• Rakhat Aliyev,former son-in-law of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayevon, who was arrested on suspicion of murdering two bankers in June 2014 was found dead in a Vienna cell where he was awaiting trial. Though Aliyev was discovered hanging from gauze bandages in his cell Tuesday morning, cause of death has not been officially ruled. [BLOOMBERG]

• “I’m just here so I won’t get fined” was one of the gems of Super Bowl press week from Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch and he may be looking to capitalize on it. Lynch filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the trademark, this in addition to his trademarked “Beast Mode” and a pending application to register “About that action boss.” The phrase will appear on shirts and sweatshirts on the Beast Mode website within the next month and the label will also debut a new shoe line in partnership with high-end shoe designer Jon Buscemi retailing for about $180 [ESPN]

• The US dollar is up compared to its 10 major developed-nation counterparts and being up may be thanks to Fed Chief Janet Yellen. The dollar climbed 0.6 percent to 119.53 yen and was little changed at $1.1326 per euro. The euro dropped 6 percent and the yen declined 1.9 percent.[BLOOMBERG]
