The men usually get the short end of the stick when it comes to red carpet fashion coverage, but we are always on the lookout for some dapper dressed men. Up until last night’s award season Fashion olympics (sorry Met ball), we’ve really been pleased with what the men brought down the red carpet, variety of colors HERE, textures HERE and styles. The award show usuals Eddie Redmayne, Matthew McConaughey, Adrien Brody, Channing Tatum were all in attendance but only a few of these dapper gents really brought it for the finale of award season. Common who was dressed by Lupita Nyong’o’s stylist Micaela Erlanger was all sorts of good looking in Prada. We were expecting a bigger bang from Eddie Redmayne who could really do no wrong regardless of style and texture but he stuck safe with navy.
Speaking of navy, there was an overwhelming amount of blue tuxes on the men last night Ansel Eg, Miles Teller. Chris Pine, went for the double breasted peak lapel which was a good idea; Chris Evans in Gucci was divine. Overall the men’s fashion at the Oscars seemed very toned down, save for Jared Leto, giving first time at the prom vibes in his powder blue suit and white oxfords. Here are our picks for Best Dressed Men at the Oscars.
Sidenote: finding a solo picture of Miles Teller was a feat, seemed he or his girlfriend were scared to let each other go on the carpet.
