Yesterday IL Gov. Bruce Rauner announced/proposed the Helmut Jahn designed Thompson Center would be sold and likely demolished to be rebuilt as a privately owned residential, office and retail space. “It’s just not usable for much of anything. APPLE

The Cupertino, California-based tech giant just lost a patent lawsuit after it was found they used technology owned by the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s licensing arm, in chips found in many of its most popular devices, without permission. Though the trial will now move to determine how much Apple will owe in damages as they could face up to $862 million. Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, sued Apple in January 2014 alleging infringement of its 1998 patent for improving chip efficiency. [REUTERS]
