CHICAGO NEWS

President Obama will be speaking to students at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management to deliver major address on economy. The speech will be delivered at 1:15 p.m. in Cahn Auditorium, 600 Emerson St., on the Evanston campus. University students not enrolled at Kellogg will have a chance to still view the President, on TV as Northwestern will set up group viewing locations on campus and it will be live streamed on Whitehouse.gov. NATIONAL NEWS

35,000 Pacific walrus have crowded the shores of Alaska amidst global warming concerns reports Washington Post. Due to global warming, the sea ice favored by walrus has disappeared; Though they are able to “haul out” onshore using their tusks, which can grow to three feet, dry land is not a walrus’s preferred environment. WORLD NEWS

One of Canada’s most gruesome and prolific murders cases is still underway. Luka Magnotta former pornographic actor and model, dubbed the cannibal killer, is on trial for the murder of Chinese student Jun Lin. Mr. Lin’s former boyfriend Lin Feng testified. Magnotta has been charged with five offences, including first degree murder, in connection with Jun Lin’s death. He has pleaded not guilty, but has agreed to the facts of the case, including that he killed Lin. The defense is citing mental illness as the reason for the crime although the defendant left a note at the crime scene taunting. [CBC CANADA]

SPORTS

Baseball playoffs are getting exciting  with wild card wins. The San Francisco Giants routed the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-0. Brandon Crawford hit the first grand slam ever by a shortstop in postseason history in the fourth inning. Also of note, Crawford’s sister Amy is dating Gerrit Cole, the starting for the Pirates, Thanksgiving dinner will be interesting this year. [USA TODAY]

CELEBRITIES

“Google’s ‘Don’t be evil’ motto is a sham,” according to lawyer Marty Singer who is representing over a dozen celebrities whose iCloud accounts were hacked and whose nude photos were stolen in late August. Google is also blamed for how it’s allegedly accommodating those using YouTube and Blogspot to post the offending images.[HOLLYWOOD REPORTER]

Now that both Peter Copping and Guillaume Henry have confirmed their creative director role exits from Nina Ricci and Carven respectively, the question now remains where are they headed next and who will replace both celebrated designers?
