Find Your Cause event on Tuesday Oct. 21 from 5:30-8:30pm, will bring together more than 300 Chicago young professionals who are interested in getting involved in their communities through service. Attendees will learn firsthand about volunteer and auxiliary/executive board positions from more than 50 community-based organizations. Chicago Sun Times reporter Dave McKinney has retained federal prosecutor Patrick Collins to investigate whether the campaign of Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner tried to interfere with his employment after the newspaper ran a story unfavorable to the politician, Crain’s reports. A 43-year-old Gary man confessed to killing a woman whose body was found in a Motel 6 and now police in Northwest Indiana are investigating a possible serial killer. The man in custody, a convicted sex offender in Austin, Texas, is talking and may be responsible for many murders over several years; the bodies of seven women were found so far. [WGN]

WORLD NEWS

Nigeria has been declared Ebola Free by The World Health Organization after a 42 day period with no new cases reports reuters. Ebola has killed 4,546 people across Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, the three worst-affected countries. Nigeria had 20 cases in total where eight died. “Nigeria is now free of Ebola,” WHO representative Rui Gama Vaz speaking at a news conference in the capital Abuja. [REUTERS]

SPORTS

The NFL’s new leader in career touchdown passes is….Peyton Manning. The Denver Broncos quarterback led his team to a victorius 42-17 over the San Francisco 49ers. Manning went into the showdown two TDs shy of Brett Favre’s record of 508 and threw four touchdown passes, giving him 510. [USA TODAY]

BUSINESS

$2.2 billion (1.7 billion euros) is the amount a Hong Kong based private-equity investor-Jynwel Capital and funds affiliated with the government of Abu Dhabi plan to make an offer to Adidas’s directors for Adidas AG’s Reebok unit. Adidas bought Reebok for $3.8 billion in 2006 to compete against Nike in the U.S., which accounts for almost a quarter of its revenue. Adidas shares have jumped since. [BOF]

CELEBRITIES

Jay Leno, formerly of the “Tonight Show” was honored with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center. Jerry Seinfeld, Wanda Sykes, Chelsea Handler, Seth Meyers and former “Tonight Show” band leader Kevin Eubanks were some of those in attendance. [NY DAILY NEWS]

British fashion and accessories brand Mulberry has yet to name a new creative director following the departure of Creative Director Emma Hill, last year. Some of the names speculated to take over include: Johnny Coca-design director for leather goods, accessories at Céline; Blue Farrier, or Hannah MacGibbon, former creative director of Chloé.
