OSCARS
With so much diversity controversy leading up to the 88th annual Academy awards, host Chris Rock came out swinging hard at hollywood last night in his opening monologue and throughout the show with quips like “Welcome to the white people’s choice awards.” In reference to the Oscar’s boycott he said, in past years, black people were “too busy being raped and lynched to care about best cinematographer” and likened Jada Pinkett’s stance to him boycotting Rihanna’s panties, I wasn’t invited.” Awkward moment of the night was when Stacey Dash was introduced as the Academy’s new head of diversity outreach. Vice President Joe Biden, looking cooler than a cucumber, introduced his “good friend” Lady Gaga who performed her nominated song, with Diane Warren, “Til It Happens to You.” Mad Max Fury Road was the big winner last night taking in 6 awards, with presenter Louis CK even poking fun at one point while presenting the documentary award whose winner would probably be “going home in a Honda Civic” to a “small apartment.” Alicia Vikander took home best supporting actress award. Leonardo DiCaprio, who received a standing ovation, winning on his sixth nomination, to which he probably started singing the Cece Peniston song ? “finally it has happened to me right in front of my face and I just can not hide it”? with a Jack & Rose Titanic reunion with Kate Winslet backstage. “Spotlight” won best picture. RACE TO WHITEHOUSE
The candidates are gearing up for Super Tuesday as the race to the Whitehouse intensifies. Over the weekend Hillary Clinton, by a landslide, beat Bernie Sanders in South Carolina 39 to 14 delegates. Trump received several endorsements, one from former grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan David Duke; Chris Christie, who just a month ago had some not so kind words for the Donald, has endorsed him and Trump even received endorsement from Alabama’s Senator Jeff Sessions. Trump’s surge in the race is causing some rift in the GOP. Are you having a laugh?!
SNIPPETS

FASHION
1.) Dolce and Gabbana’s Milan Fashion Week F/W 2016 show was a stunner but behind the scenes they were also making news. Former Gucci CEO Patrizio de Marco is rumored to be taking a seat on the brand’s board with a future IPO on the radar and Vogue Italia has been banned from its shows; Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana believe their clothes are not clearly visible in the pages of the magazine and they join a list of others including W magazine, WWD, NY Times. 2) Kylie Jenner is going up against Kylie Minogue in a battle of the Kylies. The young Jenner has applied to trademark her first name and Ms. Minogue’s team is not having it with her legal advisors saying that association with “secondary reality-television personality” Jenner who “has received criticism from disability rights groups and African-American communities” would “result in dilution of her brand.”
