♦ Congratulations are in order for Marissa Webb. The Former J.Crew head of womenswear and accessories design. has been appointed Creative Director of Banana Republic. After leaving J Crew she started her own contemporary line which received good reviews and was used on several mag covers. We are  big fans of Marissa’s work and can’t wait to see how she helps to revamp Banana Republic as they could use some having lost steam to J.Crew, H&M. She’s social media savvy as well which is a plus.

♦ Rumors are floating that power couple Jay Z and Beyonce will go on tour together this summer. Now that will be quite the blockbuster summer show.

♦ The 6th Annual Dallas Art Fair which began with a preview gala April 10 wrapped Sunday April 13 and it was the largest since its 2009 inception drawing 94 participating galleries from across the country including 2 Chicago area galleries (Carrie Secrist Gallery and Hexton|modern & contemporary).  Artist Joan Mitchell’s work was the talk of the fair ,also Vito Schnabel is dating Heidi Klum as they were spied making out in a dark corner.

♦ 300 people are missing following a tragic ferry sinking in Korea. The  multi-story ferry is said to be carrying 459 people, mostly high school students on an overnight trip to a tourist island. The ship began to list(tilt) to one side.

♦ It’s corporate earnings week so if you are a share holder in one of these companies that meet or exceed forecasted profits, good news is that Mastro’s dinner is on you ok?

♦ As it gets ready to IPO, China’s Alibaba which is kinda like their Amazon “reported $1.4 billion in profit for its fourth quarter, more than double the results in the period a year earlier.” Analysts are estimating that the company could fetch a valuation of more than $130 billion in its I.P.O so call up your finance (fee-nan-ce) guy and get to it.

♦ NYC headquartered Bank of America reported its first loss in nearly three years due to a $6billion litigation expense missing the $833million forecasted profit.

♦ SPORTS: WhiteSox beat Boaston RedSox 2-1;

♦ French computer storage specialist LaCie has said credit card details and passwords of shoppers who used its site may have been stolen. “The hard-disk maker said the FBI had alerted it to “indications” of a hacker having used malware to copy details entered into its online store. The suspected breach was thought to have lasted from March 27, 2013-March 10, 2014.”
