TORT LAW MUSEUM

AXEL SPRINGER

The German publishing company now owns 97% stake in Business Insider with Jeff Bezos holding on to his 3% which was an investment from his personal investment company. Axel Springer in an effort to increase holdings in English language properties, agreed to add 88% in the amount of $343 million, adding to their already 9% stake. MACARTHUR GRANTS

24 awesome people will each receive $625,000 over 5 years as they become the 2015 recipients of the MacArthur Foundation’s Genius award and now will be referred to as MacArthur fellows. UN GEN. ASSEMBLY

Did you see the picture of the champagne glass clink between President Obama and President Vladimir Putin after their verbal jousting? awwwkward. At the UN General assembly yesterday President Obama made a case for diplomacy and threw some shade at Putin. Once it was Putin’s turn to address, he made a case to support Syrian President Assad in the continued efforts to fight ISIS. Basically Putin wants Assad in power, US says he’s gotta go, so after it was all said and done yesterday, they are still torn. On a bright side, China’s President Xi Jinping announced $100 million to the African Union and more troops to aid United Nations peacekeeping efforts. [NY TIMES]


TESLA SUV

The first Model X SUV is set to be delivered tonight. The all electric car may get a sales boost following the recent diesel controversy over Audi and VW. This current rollout is a limited edition Founders Series reserved for board members and close friends of the company. It’s speculated the car will start at $80,000. [BLOOMBERG]
