• The anniversary of the death of Mike Brown, the unarmed black teen shot to death by Darren Wilson in Ferguson, MI has caused the city to declare another state of emergency on Monday as protesters flood the streets and at least 23 people were arrested overnight. [WASHINGTON POST]
• Millions (three gallons) of mine waste that’s filled with high concentrations of arsenic, lead and other heavy metals has spilled into parts of the Colorado River which now looks orange-yellow and was accidentally caused by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) last week from the abandoned Gold King mine. The San Juan River and Animas River will remain closed to drinking water and irrigation intakes and there may be long term effects from the metals that have settled into river sediments.[CNN]

• Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff is being accused of backpedaling, as in systematically delaying repayments to its lenders to make the fiscal account seem healthier than it actually was and show spending was not as high as it actually was, by the TCU Brazil’s highest fiscal accounting court tasked with reviewing public finances. This report with a ruling coming in late August, could serve as basis for impeaching Rousseff who has also been snared in several corruption scandals, the Petrobras for one. [REUTERS]

• Illinois native and 2015 NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala married Christina Gutierrez this past weekend at the One & Only Palmilla in Los Cabos Mexico. The bride, who is also his stylist, wore Reem Acra & Zuhair Murad, the groom wore Lanvin. [PAGE SIX]
• Donald Sterling, former owner of the LA Clippers is suing website TMZ and his alleged mistress V. Stiviano over the loss of the team which stemmed from a recording of him advising her not to associate with black people. Sterling is also suing his wife, Shelly and the doctors who examined him over claims he had dementia and couldn’t handle his business affairs. [USA TODAY]
BUSINESS
• A is for alphabet and the name of Google’s newly created holding company. It was announced yesterday afternoon that the company’s business ventures will now fall under the larger alphabet umbrella. Co-founders Sergey Brin(the google glass affair one) and Larry Page will both head that up as Sundar Pichai has been named President of Google. [WSJ]

• Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen’s company Dualstar Entertainment in which their label The Row, among their other business ventures fall under, are defendants in a class action suit by a group of former interns led by lead plaintiff Shahista Lalani during her time working for The Row’s head technical designer [PAGE SIX]
FASHION
• Creatures of The Wind, the Chicago founded fashion brand (now mostly based in New York), will join 14 other next generation designers named to the 2016 Swarovski Collective. It’s a 1 year program where the designers receive and product support. One of the designers will win €25,000(≈ $27,500). The other designers are: Alexander Lewis, Christian Wijnants, David Koma, Emilia Wickstead, Esteban Cortázar, Haizhen Wang, Iris van Herpen, Peter Pilotto, Rosie Assoulin, Tanya Taylor, Thomas Tait, Tim Coppens, Tome and Vivienne Hu.
