AB INBEV
• Anheuser-Busch’s InBev has approached SABMiller, the 1-2 largest brewer, for a takeover deal. Shares for SAB Miller jumped 23% as news of the takeover broke. If the deal does go through, it will be the biggest acquisition in brewing industry history creating a $275 billion business. AB Inbev has until Oct. 14 5pm in London to either make a formal offer or walk away. Fun fact, Moda Operandi’s Lauren Santo Domingo aka The LSD & Vogue contributing editor is married into the family that owns 14% stake in SAB Miller. [BLOOMBERG]

• The 14-year-old Texas high schooler was arrested when a teacher thought the homemade clock he brought to school was a bomb. The student, who happens to be muslim, was questioned searched and led off in handcuffs and has been suspended from school for three days. [ABC NEWS]
FED RATES
• Will they or won’t they is the question and Janet Yellen may have the answer but she’s not telling, yet. Whenever top commanders at the Fed are set to meet, chatter about increasing the interest rate goes into high gear and as they are set for a two day meeting starting today, the market is reacting. Good news is Chinese stocks had a late 5% surge. According to Bloomberg, if the rates raise, from 0-.25%, it will be bad news for debtors and good news for savers. [FINANCIAL TIMES]
HP
• Ahead of its split into 2 companies, CEO Meg Whitman layed out the expected job cuts which will eliminate 10% or 30,000 of current employees particularly those at call centers and service centers over the next three years. Once the split is complete, Whitman will become CEO of HP Enterprise which will service businesses and the other company will be called HP Inc’s CEO. [REUTERS]

• The Toronto International Film Festival has been drawing some strong Oscar buzz for certain films and actors including Spotlight; Johnathan Rhys Meyers in the film “London Town.” Amy Schumer will receive the Charlie Chaplin Brittania Award for excellence in comedy. Nickelodeon wants 90’s cartoon babies to have #tbt all the time with The Splat bringing back classic series that may include “Rugrats,” “Hey Dude,” “Salute your shorts,” fingers crossed “Doug” is on the list.
FASHION
• Fashion week in NYC ends tomorrrow, yesterday Serena Williams showcased her designs for HSN with Anna WIntour and Drake looking on; Details magazine is celebrating 15 year anniversary. Kanye West is set to debut his second Yeezy x Adidas collection today.
