*Developing story* A Russian Sukhoi Su-24 warplane was shot down by Turkey close to the Turkey-Syrian border because it repeatedly violated its airspace and ignored several warnings (ten times in five minutes). State Attorney Anita Alvarez’s office will be charging Officer Jason Van Dyke with murder, most likely today, ahead of the release of the Laquan McDonald, a 17-year-old African American, video. Get you up to speed, the incident happened in 2014; Van Dyke, who was not the only cop on the scene that night, emptied 16 bullets into McDonald from his shoulder to his right and left thigh, the city settled with the family for $5 million but a journalist sued, citing Freedom of Information, to have the video viewed and a judge ruled last week that it should be shown by 11/25. Van Dyke is, at time of publishing is on the way to turning himself in and he is also expected to be charged with murder. Initially CPD reports stated that McDonald “lunged” at officers with a knife.
