→Richard Lee Norris was 22 when he shot himself in the face after a drunken argument, “The gunshot had blown off his nose, cheekbones, lips, tongue, teeth, jaw, and chin.”  36 hours, 150 medical staff and countless upkeep procedures later for a facial transplant done by Dr. Eduardo Rodriguez, he has a new face and profiled in GQ magazine.

→ A 9-year-old Oceana Irizzary who was walking on a Florida beach when she was hit by a small plane making an emergency landing has died according to USA Today.
→ Gretchen Rel, A longtime volunteer with an animal protection organization in New Jersey has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges. She hoarded more than 300 pigeons, small mammals, turtles and other creatures in her 95-year-old mother’s $1 million home only to let them starve and die. Rell was indicted in May for animal cruelty.

→The House of Dior Couture has reported an increase of 13.4% (£747 million) in Sales in Q2. Profits from recurring operations increased 47% in the second half of its fiscal year to £84 million or $115.2 million. Sales in directly operated stores increased 19% at constant exchange rates compared with the same period in 2013 “thanks to the excellence of its products,” the group said.
