Tesla’s $5billion battery Gigafactory will be located in Nevada. The company will make the official announcement today. There were 4 other states vying, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, California.”Texas and Arizona both prohibit Tesla from selling cars at its company-owned stores there.” The move is expected to create 6,500 new jobs. The state proved to be the perfect fit as it is about 5 hours from Tesla’s factory in California and the country’s “only active lithium mine.” [FORBES]

• Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week begins today. NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio hosted a kick off fete with designers such as Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren,Diane von Furstenberg Tommy Hilfiger Carolina Herrera, Tory Burch, Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman, Keren Craig, Prabal Gurung and Proena Schouler’s Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough to name a few. Three new initiatives by the Mayor were announced.
