Metallic eyes and bold lips are about to hit center stage for fall. Editorial, commercial and red carpet makeup artists weigh-in on the hottest makeup trends. Whether you have 10 minutes to get ready or hours to get ready for one of the galas in our social calendar, the recommendation from these accomplished makeup artists will keep you looking your fab best.
Leave the neon for summer, and go with metallic eyes and bold lips for fall.
Dior Makeup Artist Ricky Wilson says metallic eye shadow is in for fall. Wilson has worked with his magic on runway shows for designers such as Vera Wang, John Galliano, stars like Leighton Meester, DJ Kiss, Sharon Stone and many national and international print publications.
Wilson’s recommendation on how to get a flawless metallic look for fall: Apply opulent shades of gold and bronze with hints of jewel tones, such as deep green or ruby.
A bold red or burgundy metallic smoky eye will be the hottest look for fall, and you can achieve the look by pairing Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow Trafalgar 876 with a transparent lip to create a “flawless semi matte complexion.”
Anna Branson, editorial makeup artist and beauty editor for “Darling Magazine,” says to go with a metallic bold lip. She recommends and orange-red metallic lip using OCC Lip Tar Metallic in Manhunter.

The sexy, red lip.
Alexis Ellen, red carpet and editorial makeup artist, says one of her favorite fall looks is a Cara Delvingne full brow with a bold, matte lip using liquid lipstick, like Aromi Preppy Red Matte Liquid Lipstick.
She recommends moisturizers and creams, such as Suntegrity “5 In 1” Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen or Haut HDD Cream, for a glowing complexion to go with the look.

Alx Galasinao, makeup artist for ABC-7 Chicago TV personalities and for political figures such as Barack Obama and Ariana Huffington, says the lip color depends on your skin tone. She recommends deep mink and cherry lipsticks for darker skin and Tom Ford’s Reckless and True for someone with olive skin tone.

Makeup artist Anna Branson suggests incorporating the trend by applying blue mascara on the bottom lashes, using Inglot Blue Mascara, or a thin blue liner, using Make Up For Ever: aqua liner.
What should I pack for a quick day-to-night look?

Anna Branson says for daytime, concealer, mascara and lipstick are all you need. “I would never go anywhere without my mascara,” she said.
Alexis Ellen recommends applying your favorite lipstick on both the lips and the cheeks, a flicked cat-eye using a longwear eyeliner, like Tarte Precision Longwear Eyeliner and a few coats of mascara before you run out the door.
Ricky Wilson says “you can do so much with a bronzer, black eyeliner and a red lipstick.” With this, you apply the eyeliner, blend the bronzer on the cheeks and eyes, slightly smudge the eyeliner with bronzer and apply a red lipstick. “The look is sexy without looking like you’ve just had your makeup done,” he said.
Alx Galasinao recommends using a glow powder and some false eyelashes. TheBalm’s Hot Mama! can be used on the cheeks, as well as under the brow and in the corner of the eye, paired with a concealer by It Comsetics.
