11 shootings in 11 days along I-10 has led authorities to classify this as a case of domestic terrorism and a $20,000 reward is being offered. The first reported incident happened Aug. 29 and a bullet that hit an SUV injured a 13 year old girl. This is reminiscent of 2002’s Washington Beltway sniper shootings carried out by John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo, who were later arrested and convicted. [WASHINGTON POST]

The reporter, who along with Carl Bernstein broke the news on the watergate scandal that led to Nixon’s resignation from office, will publish his next book “The Last of The President’s Men” focusing on Alexander Butterfield, the aide to former President Nixon who revealed he was secretly taping his Oval Office conversations. Butterfield opened his secret archives and never before told stories in 46 hours of interview. The book is set to be released October 13 by Simon & Schuster. [ABC NEWS]

The tech giant yesterday at its big event, announced a series of new products and much needed updates on staid products including the iPad Pro, iPhone 6S Plus and new apple TV, apple pencil. One of the biggest announcements though was the apple watch partnership with Hermes. Though a whole lot of noise was made at the auditorium, share prices did not move, actually they dropped 1.9% so either investors are telling Tim Cook “we don’t believe you, you need more people” orthey are waiting for the breakthrough products apple is known for. The online consignment company raised $81 million recently led by Goldman Sachs Investment partners and they will be using the fresh round of funds to build out their network of distribution partners and growing its consumer base. The company, which is similar to ebay helps sellers list their items by sending it to one of their distribution centers. [VENTURE BEAT]
DEBT COLLECTORS
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau reached settlements with Portfolio Recovery and Encore Capital group , the two largest debt collection companies over their collection practices. Encore will pay a $10 million fine and $42 million to consumers while agreeing to stop collecting over $125 million worth of debts. PRA will pay $19 million, $8 million in fines, stop collecting debt worth $3 million and “tens of thousands” of consumers will receive refund checks, actual amount they will receive not disclosed so #loweredexpectations.
