• Arkansas real estate agent Beverly Carter went to a suspicious showing Thursday and never returned and now a suspect is wanted in connection with her disappearance. An arrest warrant has been issued for Aaron Michael Lewis. He was in police presence for an unrelated issue but managed to get away. “Carter’s SUV was found in the driveway of the home she was showing, her purse still inside. One thing was missing: her cellphone.” Carter’s husband received several text messages from his wife’s phone after midnight the night she disappeared which made him realize she was in trouble. • Hong Kong protests for democracy has been raging on for day, but China has managed to censor images or details surrounding it to its citizens. “The government’s restriction on related information is definitely the main reason why ordinary people in China have not shown strong interests in the situation in Hong Kong right now.” [LA TIMES]
• High levels of toxic gases has forced the suspension of the search and rescue mission atop Mount Ontake at Nagano to be called off. So far, the death toll has risen to 36. This is the first fatal eruption in modern times on Mt. Ontake, which is located 125 miles west of Tokyo. “The volcano rained down rocks and hot ash without warning onto hikers.” [NBC NEWS]

• Could Yahoo and AOL be in merger talks? Activist investor Starboard on Friday pressured Yahoo to merge with AOL reports reuters. “A pairing could help the companies compete in their core advertising business. But even combined, they would remain but a shadow of the Internet powerhouses they once were, analysts and advertising experts said. Google Inc is expected to command more than a third of the world’s $140 billion digital advertising spending this year, with No. 2 Facebook Inc grabbing about 8 percent.
