• Kanye West was honored by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago last night with an honorary doctorate. He took in the MFA Show with SAIC Dean Lisa Wainwright. Speaking with the audience, saying “I think my mom would trade in every Grammy, BET award…every single award for her son to have a doctorate.” Earlier in the day, he made an appearance and performed at the Cavs-Bulls game. • Hattiesburg Police Department patrolmen Benjamin J. Deen and Liquori Tate were fatally shot and killed while making a traffic stop. Marvin Banks, 29, and Joanie Calloway, 22 have been arrested and charged with a fourth suspect, Cornelius Clark, 28, was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice. [USA TODAY]
WORLD NEWS

• The Camp David summit of U.S. and allied Arab leaders will have a few less Arab nation leaders as several are opting out of attending. Newly installed Saudi King Salman will not be in attendance for President Obama’s summit though Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Bahrain’s Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa will be. The summit is to help reassure key Arab allies “looking for assurances that they have Obama’s support at a time when the region feels under siege from Islamic extremists and by Iran’s rising influence.” [NY TIMES]

• Lebron “Buzzer beater” James tied up the Bulls-Cavs series at 2-2 last night during their last minute win over the Chicago Bulls, 86-84. [ESPN]
BUSINESS
• Volvo has named its first US factory site and the $500 million assembly plant will be located in Berkeley County. Berkeley County beat out several candidate sites from other states. Volvo, which has had significant sales declines in the US, was purchased in 2010 by the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. from Ford Motor. [WSJ]

• From the looks of some celebrities posh emerald lawns from aerial photos taken by photographer John Chapple, you may not be able to tell Caliornia is currently suffering from one of its worst drought in history. Celebs such as Jennifer Lopez, Kanye and Kim Kardashian West, Hugh Hefner, Khloe Kardashian and even Formula One heiress Petra are some of the nature offenders. Experts estimated that there will be less than a year’s worth of drinking water left in the state’s reservoirs by the end of 2015 and the fine for wasting water is $100.

FASHION
• Could fashion brand Proenza Schouler(founded by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez) be on the market for new investing partner? Private equity firm Castanea Partners is reportedly interested in the growing fashion house, that produces womenswear and accessories, with a “billion-dollar brand” goal. Luxury conglomerate LVMH is no longer in the running. Castanea Partners’ range of companies includes home furnishings to personal accessories and they invest between $15 million and $75 million.
