BET Awards??? Last night, the Black Entertainment Network’s annual awards show, opened with a surprise performance of Freedom by Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar and excerpt of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have A Dream” speech. The highly anticipated Prince tribute definitely did not disappoint with Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder, Bilal, Sheila E, Janelle Monae, Erykah Badu, Maxwell. Grey’s Anatomy actor/social activist Jesse Williams’ speech after receiving the humanitarian award from BET chairman/CEO Debra Lee, was inspiring.
