• Facebook is making its suicide prevention tools available in all languages supported by the platform. The tools, which let people flag posts from friends who may be at risk for self-harm or suicide, were previously available only for some English-language users. Facebook said it will continue to partner with suicide prevention and mental health organizations in different countries.

• Clear View Group, an Austin, Texas-based private equity firm, is buying historic Ebony and Jet in a deal that will see the company split its publishing and cosmetics business. According to the Tribune, Johnson Publishing will retain its Fashion Fair Cosmetics business and its historic Ebony photo archives and still be led by CEO Desiree Rogers but Cheryl McKissack who was JPC’s COO will be CEO of this new entity. Linda Johnson Rice will serve as chairman emeritus on the board of the new company. Ebony EIC Kierna Mayo, who was just featured in a Chicago Mag article, is stepping down. Clear View is African American owned.

• As the investigation into the life and motive of the Orlando shooter deepens, new information is coming out. A grand jury is weighing whether to charge his wife who apparentlyfeared he was going to attack a gay nightclub overnight Saturday and pleaded with him not to do anything violent – but failed to warn police after he left. The shooter, a US citizen, was likely self-radicalized and there was no evidence he received any help or instructions from outside groups such as Islamic State.

ENTERTAINMENT

• Curb your enthusiasm because Larry David and Co. will be back on HBO. It was announced yesterday that the hit show Curb Your Enthusiasm, off the air for nearly five years, will return for a ninth season. Show creator Larry David said about the news ‘In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, “I left, I did nothing, I returned.”

•  Richard Simmons, who has been reclusive in the past few years, addressed the rumors that he’s undergoing gender transition saying, “Although I am not transitioning, I have and always will be supportive of those who are going through their journey.” He continues, “My broken heart and healing thoughts are with the people of Orlando and all other victims of prejudice, bigotry and hate.”
