What Next? Following the aftermaths of the two fatal shootings in Baton Rouge and Falcon Heights and the deadly ambush and killings of 5 Dallas police officers last week, the weekend saw more protests and arrests. From Baton Rouge to NYC, Chicago and LA, protesters were out calling for peace and solution to the fatal shootings. Activist DeRay McKesson was one of those arrested in Baton Rouge. The image above is of protester Leshia Evans, confronted by heavily armed officers before being arrested. Vigils for the slain police officers are already underway. Many are calling for accountability and acknowledgement of privilege something Newt Gingrich recently talked about, though Former NYC mayor Rudy Guiliani added his 2 cents statingBlack Lives matter is inherently racist saying it is up to the “blacks” to show respect to police officers. A recent study found that though bias is found in how police treat black men and women, but no racial bias when it comes to police shooting. • Chicago’s low key billionaire and Notre Dame’s $75 million donor, Jay Jordan’s daughter is getting married in September and according to PageSix, security for the Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc event will be tight as the White House. The NY based couple were spotted on the Chicago social scene 2 years ago at the David Bowie exhibit gala here. • The new Ghosbusters with an all female lead, premiered Saturday in Los Angeles. Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon, were all on hand. Late last month, star Leslie Jones had tweeted the lack of designers wanting to help her with a premiere dress until Christian Siriano reached out and her dress was beautifully done.

• Tiffany & Co. will be collaborating with Reed Krakoff, the former creative director of Coach and his own eponymous label, on a new accessories and homewares collection. On what to expect from his designs, he said “It’s going to be an amalgamation of historical Tiffany icons and my own modernist taste, and looking at that through a lens of how things are made, of quality, craftsmanship.” Krakoff shuttered his own label earlier this year.
• Alexa Chung is launching her own fashion label set to debut May 2017, it was exclusively announced via BOF. British personality/model, Chung got the confidence to launch her own after working on a number of collaborations and creative projects with other fashion labels. The line will include denim, daywear, eveningwear, shoes and jewellery, as well as special products.
