• 28-year-old Adam Matos has been arrested on suspicion of a quadriple murder. Tampa police arrested him at the Floridian Hotel and took custody of a 4-year-old boy believed to be his son. Officers, “while checking on the child, deputies found the bodies on a hill near the home after one officer smelled something horrible..found four bodies piled up on each other near his house in Hudson, on the Gulf Coast.” [NBC NEWS]

Award-winning and one of Austria’s most famous conductors Franz Welser-Moest “has quit as musical director of Vienna’s famed State Opera just days after its 2014-15 season began, citing an artistic clash with its director” Dominique Meyer reports Reuters. Palmira Silva was discovered slumped in the garden of a house in Edmonton in North London, she was beheaded. The 82-year-old was a victim of what seems to be a random attack by a machete wielding man who was later arrested. [THE DAILY BEAST]

• NFL Season is now underway. The reigning Superbowl champs Seattle SeAhawks beat the Green Bay Packers 36-16. Marshawn Lynch, the human form of the 100 emoji rushed for 110 yards 2 touchdowns, Russell Wilson completed 19 of 28 passes for 191 yards. [ESPN]

• Joan Rivers’ death has now raised an uncertainty in the future of the show she helmed. E! Network’s “Fashion Police” future has been placed on hiatus.
