Nice, France. The Bastille Day celebration turned deadly as an alleged ISIS militant drove a 19-ton truck through the crowds, then opened fire on survivors before being shot dead by police, killing 84 including two American citizens with about 18 people in critical condition. As details of the tragedy begins to emerge, we know the truck driver 31-year-old Tunisian-born Frenchman named as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel. The attack is being investigated, though so far it seems to be the work of a lone assailant. In the US many are showing support for Nice and also France the country that has been the target of many ISIS related attacks recently. • GOP convention starts Monday. Presidential nominee Donald Trump will delay the announcement of his VP candidate which is being tipped to be Indiana Governor Mike Pence, following the tragic events in Nice. Tim Tebow denied that he will be speaking at the convention. New Gingrich, also set to speak, following the Nice attack has called for deporting everyone in America with a Muslim background who believes in sharia law. Meanwhile Hillary Clinton shared with Virgina rally attendees she’s seen Hamilton THREE times.

• A Chicago uber driver has been charged with the sexual assault of a 23-year-old passenger who was occasionally unconscious, last month. Alexander Marrero, 35, who drove for Uber “a few times” in a red Hyundai registered to the Uber app through his wife’s account, is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.

ENTERTAINMENT

• The 2016 Emmy nominations are out and Game of Thrones leads the pack with 23. Surprise noms and snubs were also aplenty but most importantly, diversity in nominees.

• Sotheby’s will auction off Davis Bowie’s private art collection which is being revealed for the first time, in November. The three part sale will encompass some 400 items from artists like Frank Auerbach, Damien Hirst, Henry Moore and Graham Sutherland.

FASHION

• Designer Maxwell Osborne, one half of Public School label and co-creative director of DKNY, wrote a letter in W magazine calling for others in the industry to support the Black Lives Matter movement by not just “continue the dialogue of race in America, but to do something about it.”

• Peter Dundas, creative director for Roberto Cavalli, who designed Ciara Princess Harris’ wedding dress talked about the process.
