Though he did not show up for the Fox News hosted debate last night, Donald Trump was still the elephant in the room and talk of the show with candidate Cruz even opening with a joke that included insults to all onstage “I’m a maniac and everyone on this stage is stupid, fat and ugly, and Ben, you’re a terrible surgeon.” Without Trump, the debate was relatively a bore. Trump had requested Fox contribute $5 million to his charities in exchange for his attendance, which the network turned down. The Donald’s event, which was also attended by Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee, reportedly raised $6 million for U.S. military veterans.

• Three inmates that broke out of a California jail are still on the lam with reports that they might be living out of a van. Nooshafarin Ravaghi, a 41-year-old jail teacher acquainted with alleged escape mastermind Hussein Nayeri, helped the three break out and she was arrested Thursday. Nayeri and two other inmates, 43-year-old Bac Duong and 20-year-old Jonathan Tieu, sawed through a metal grate over a plumbing tunnel and sliced through more metal and rebar to reach an unguarded section of roof, where they rappelled down with bed linens…
•The Zika virus is spreading at an alarming rate with babies of women who have been infected with the Zika virus during pregnancy at risk for microcephaly, a rare birth defect characterized by a small head and brain. The World Health Organization now forecasts that there could be 3 million to 4 million cases of the mosquito-borne virus in the Americas. At the moment, there is no vaccine against Zika though researchers are scrambling to find one.

Leonardo DiCaprio met with Pope Francis yesterday gifting him a copy of a book about 15th-century Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch, featuring a painting – Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights; they talked about their shared environmental concerns…Warren Buffet will appear as an advisor on the upcoming Celebrity Apprentice hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger …Oh man, though we loathe to, we have to keep some of you posted on the tangled Kardashian clan web. Now TMZ is reporting recluse Rob Kardashian is dating and not just couch crashing with Blac Chyna, former KK best friend, who has a kid with Tyga, who dumped her for Kylie Jenner, Rob’s half sister, man! Curvy Barbie, short Barbie…Mariah Carey and James Packer attended the G’Day USA gala dinner in LA…Steve Harvey’s 19-year-old stepdaughter Lori Harvey is dating 21-year-old DUtch soccer player Memphis Depay who plays for Manchester United with a four-year contract worth a reported $40million, ayeee!
