• Ukraine marks the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, when an uncontrolled reaction at a Soviet plant spewed radioactive material which drifted into other parts of the USSR, including Russia and Belarus, and northern Europe.

• Blackhawks are out of playoff contention losing to St. Louis Blues yesterday 2-3 in game 7. Two major basketball stars have suffered injuries as the NBA playoffs continue. • The Berkshire Hathaway Inc. shareholders annual meeting aka “Woodstock for Capitalists” taking place April 30 this year will have its question-and-answer session streamed live via Yahoo, for the first time ever.

• Johnnie-O, the West coast prep label for men and boys founded by former Chicagoan (Winnetka) John O’Donnell, will offer co-branded Major League Baseball apparel for men and women marking their foray into the licensed sports business.
