Tesla’s Model 3. Elon Musk, debuted the $35,000 Model 3, at the company’s Hawthorne Design Studio yesterday, receiving 133,000 pre-orders according to reports. The Model 3, expected to begin production in late 2017, will be able to go from 0 to 60 mph in less than six seconds in its most affordable configuration and is fitted with Tesla’s “autopilot” features. There’s a Tesla showroom in Chicago at 1053 W. Grand in the event you have your $1,000 deposit ready.

• A Virginia state trooper, Chad P. Dermyer, who was fatally shot multiple times yesterday at a Richmond Greyhound bus terminal has died. The gunman, who was shot dead by two other troopers was 34-year-old James Brown III of Aurora, Illinois.
