Remember the awful awful snowstorm and polar vortex we had and how getting around was a DISASTER?!?

Even if you tried to get an Uber(black car, SUV, or Uber X), you received notfication of 5-8x ‘surge’ pricing.
Thankfully NY Attorney General Eric Schneiderman saw the fault in this and took them to task. Today it was announced that Uber has agreed to limit prices during emergencies, natural disasters or other market disruptions consistent with the state’s law against price gouging and will apply to UberX, Uber Black, Uber SUV and Uber LUX.
Under the new agreement, it will set a cap during ‘abnormal disruptions of the market,’ limited to the range charged in the preceding 60 days and excluding the three highest prices.
After months of lamenting over Uber’s internally determined surge pricing, we get a break.

The worst is during a rainfall, one minute uber rates are fine, the next 5x what gives?!?
The San Francisco-based company is expected to apply the same cap policy for its services nationally.
