It’s not enough to lead one of the top restaurants in the world (#6), to be a revered bad-ass in the kitchen who forages some of the best ingredients from the amazon to make exquisite amazing dishes and named one of TIME Magazine’s 100 most influential people, Alex Atala has now authored a new book filled with delicious images and recipes. The Phaidon published book authored by Alex Atala is called, D.O.M. Rediscovering Brazilian Ingredients. When we received word about the book back in May, it was being worked under a different title.
The book with a foreward by another acclaimed chef, Alain Ducasse, features some of the best recipes from the classical trained chef Atala who began his career when he was 19 in Belgium, at the École Hôtelière de Namur.

This book will tell the individual stories of 65 of the unique ingredients that are used in the kitchens at D.O.M. and Alex’s relationship with them to create Contemporary Brazilian/Amazonian dishes. D.O.M will be available to ship at the end of September but can be pre-ordered HERE. Atala will be going on a world wide book tour later in the year,let’s hope Chicago is on the list of the stops, we hear they are working to make that happen.
