• Yahoo announced it had a quarterly net loss of $99 million compared with a profit of $21 million a year ago. Plans to auction/sell its core business is still on track with varying first round bids submitted by Verizon Communications, Apax Partners LLP, TPG Capital LP, Bain Capital LLC, Apollo Global Management LLC and Warburg Pincus LLC.

• Eddie Bolden, 46, walked out of the Cook County Jail as a free man for the first time in more than 22 years. Three months after a Cook County judge had thrown out Bolden’s murder convictions for the fatal shooting of two men in a 1994 drug deal gone bad, county prosecutors decided not to retry him. Bolden was released in time to attend his 21-year-old son’s graduation Sunday from Goshen College.

• United Continental Holdings announced three of its independent directors, non-executive chairman Henry L. Meyer III, directors John Walker and Charles Yamarone would retire from the board and not stand for reelection at the company’s annual meeting. Robert Milton, former chairman and CEO of ACE Aviation Holdings, will succeed Meyer as non-executive chairman at the annual meeting.
