♦ NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will make an announcement at 1PM EST regarding the investigation surrounding Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s recorded racist remarks. Major sponsors have pulled from the basketbal franchise amidst the recent revelation.

♦ General Electric is looking to back failing French engineering firm Alstom for a reported $13 billion. General Electric Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt and head of GE France Clara Gaymard met with France’s President Francois Hollande to discuss the future of French engineering group and CFM-an aviation powerhouse with 26,000 units sold and a CFM-powered jet taking off every two seconds.

SPORTS:
♦The reigning NBA champs Miami Heat advanced to 2nd round of playoff defeating Michael Jordan’s Charlotte bobcats 109-98.
♦ Atlanta routed #1 seed Indiana Pacers 107-97 taking the playoff series lead 3-2. The Chicago Bulls play the Washington Wizards tonight at United Center 8PM CST. The Bulls are down 3-1 and need to win this game to stay in playoff contention.

♦ Good bye Ladies Home Journal. After 131 years, Meredith (publishing company) has announced it will cease publication of the magazine. The July issue will be its last. Ladies’ Home Journal will become a special interest magazine sold solely on newsstands. Subscriptions will not be available.

♦ Alinea is back on top! The Chicago restaurant is #9 in Restaurant Magazine’s Top Dining list best culinary experience. Noma in Copenhagen, Denmark is #1

♦ Emma Stone, during the Spiderman promotion tour stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and an epic lip synching battle commenced. She WINS!

♦ Cover star. Rihanna is sizzling on the cover of Vogue Brasil and the spread inside as well include a few topless shots inside. The May issue of Vogue Brasil can be found stateside at select stores.

♦ Chicago house music legend Farley Jackmaster Funk will have a Block of S. Michigan Avenue named after him. The 1300 block of S. Michigan Ave., site of the Playground, will be named Farley Jackmaster Funk Way.

♦ In light of the recent security mishaps, Target Corporation has named a new CIO,  Bob DeRodes,  to oversee technology, security.
