• Harpo no mo! After more than 20 years, Harpo Studios which helped put the West Loop of Chicago on the map and employed over 500 people at its peak, will close at the end of the year and all productions for OWN network will cease and transition to a studio in California. Harpo Studios which opened in 1990, was sold last year to developer Sterling Bay Cos for about $32 million. Oprah came into town Tuesday to deliver the news. [CHICAGO TRIBUNE]

• A suspect believed to be responsible for the shootings toward the National Security Agency (NSA) building and in the Baltimore-Washington area, over the last two weeks, is in FBI custody. [IB TIMES]

• The wreckage of Japanese WWI battleship Musashi, once one of the two largest warships in the world, has been found in the Sibuyan Sea near the Philippines by billionaire Paul Allen superyacht, the MY Octopus. [CNN]
• The possession and sale of beef has been banned in the populous western state of Maharashtra, where India’s financial capital, Mumbai is in. The ban, imposing fines and up to five years in prison for violations, is an amendment to a 1972 law prohibiting the slaughter of cows, expanded to ban the slaughter of bulls, bullocks and calves but slaughter of water buffaloes will still be allowed. • Kansas University basketball team is celebrating their 11th consecutive Big 12 championship win beating No. 20 West Virginia 76-69 in overtime. • $2.10 trillion in profits are being reserved offshore by U.S companies to avoid taxes reports Bloomberg. Eight tech firms including Microsoft, Google and Apple added a combined $69 billion to this amount.
