Smash and grab at Neimans!  The Neiman Marcus store on Michigan Avenue was the scene of the area’s most recent smash and grab. Two people are currently in custody, most of the property that was taken in the theft was recovered. [CHICAGO TRIBUNE]

Kevyn Orr has agreed to step down as Detroit’s emergency manager as the city will no longer be in a financial emergency once it exits bankruptcy. He has also implemented the city’s two-year budget that reflects the elimination of about $7 billion in debt through the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history. [CBS DETROIT]

Malala Yousefzai and Kailash Satyarthi were presented their Nobel Peace Prize awards by the Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel committee, in the presence of King Harald V of Norway.The Nobel committee described both laureates as “champions of peace.” [BBC]
