Speaking of opening’s, SoulCycle Loop is set to open their 2nd Chicago location at 111 West Wacker Thursday July 2nd and will feature a 4,000 sq. ft, 67-bike studio with full men’s and women’s locker rooms with five showers. • New York City’s Rent Guidelines Board voted on June 29 to freeze rent on one-year leases and to limit two-year lease increases to a comparatively low 2%, this comes after report that landlords’ incomes have grown for nine consecutive years, while renters in stabilized housing have experienced both unchanged income and rising housing costs. • A military transport plane with 100 people on board has crashed into a residential area shortly after take-off in northern Indonesia and about 55 people are feared dead and the death toll may rise. The plane was a C-130B Hercules, which went into service half a century ago among many of Indonesia’s aging aircraft and this crashing happening comes just half a year after the crash of QZ8501. • Uber Technologies, in effort to sell $1 billion to $1.2 billion in convertible bonds, is telling prospective investors that it generates $470 million in operating losses on $415 million in revenue, but they have 300 percent year-over-year growth. “Investors in this round will be able to convert the notes at a compounded 11.5 percent discount if the company sells shares on the public market.” The math adds up to heavy loss for a company with a $50 billion valuation.
