The Chicago Police are investigating an alleged rape by an Uber driver who picked up a woman at a River North bar in November. The incident occurred when the victim requested a ride from Uber about 2:30 a.m on Nov. 16. [DNA INFO]

A small twin-engine plane crashed into a home in Gaithersburg, Maryland, killing three people in the plane. A mother and her two young sons in the residence were also killed. [ABC NEWS]
The Senate Intelligence Committee will be releasing a report on the CIA’s anti-terrorism and U.S. officials moved to shore up security at American facilities around the world as a precaution. A Korean Airlines vice-president traveling as a passenger from New York to South Korea who delayed a flight over how she was served macadamia nuts, has resigned. The last French hostage to be held by Islamist militants has been freed after three years. Serge Lazarevic was taken in Mali in November 2011. French President Francois Hollande said there were no more French hostages waiting to be freed.[BBC]

BMW has appointed the industry’s youngest CEO. Production head Harald Krueger will take over as chief executive officer next year, succeeding Norbert Reithofer.
