Food delivery must be the new business model dujour as Uber revealed it is getting into the food delivery business starting Tuesday for the Loop & River North area. UberEATS, From 11 a.m.-2 p.m. every weekday, will have Uber drivers who traditionally use their cars to take people from one part of Chicago to another, deliver one of two meal choices at select locations, priced $9 to $13 each plus a $3 delivery charge. A state of emergency was declared by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan yesterday amidst protests, some of which turn violent for justice in the death of 25-year old Freddie Gray. Though full details of why he was arrested on April 12, how he suffered severe spinal injury that left him in a coma and dead a week later, have not been released Firefighters battled numerous blazes through Monday night. Six officers have been suspended, and the U.S. Justice Department is investigating the incident for possible civil rights violations. •  The death toll in Nepal continues to rise and villages outside the main city Katmandu await help and aid. “Many of the worst-hit villages in the ridges around Katmandu remain a black hole, surrounded by landslides that make them inaccessible even to the country’s armed forces.” Katmandu’s airport had been so overloaded by aid and passenger planes that incoming flights sat for hours on the runway. After exhausting all possible appeal attempts and failed pleas for clemency from Australian government, the 2 leaders of the Bali 9 drug smuggling ring-Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan, caught with 18lbs of heroin, will most likely be executed next tonight or in a few days in Indonesia as their families said their last goodbyes. This execution has put a strain on government relations between both countries. Tyson Foods announced “today that it plans to eliminate use of human antibiotics with its U.S. broiler chicken flocks by fall of 2017.” This is major news because Tyson is nation’s biggest chicken processor, which may coincide with McDonalds’ recent announcement that within two years it would stop using chicken treated with antibiotics commonly used for humans. McDonalds is one of Tyson’s biggest customers. The use of antibiotics in the food supply is of increasing concern to consumers — particularly Millennials. [USA TODAY]

Refinery29, the 11 year website, just raised $50 million from Scripps Networks Interactive and WPP Ventures in efforts to evolve beyond its fashion roots and is investing heavily in video and global expansion, reports WWD. Yesterday it was announced the fashion website, which had some print issues before closing that arm, will be home of Condé Nast’s new e-commerce business, replacing the website’s news and show reports content.
