Paul, a 2016 presidential candidate was joined on the floor at one point by Sen. Ted Cruz, also running. You would hate to get stuck talking to him at a dinner party though. [ABC NEWS]
• A suspect has been named in connection with the quadruple murder of American Iron Works CEO his family and housekeeper. DNA from a Domino’s pizza delivered to their house while being held captive had linked 34-year-old Daron Dylon Wint from Maryland to the murder and an arrest warrant has been issued. Mr. Savopoulos’s personal assistant dropped off a package containing $40,000 in cash at the home, near the vice president’s mansion, the day they died which has gone missing. [WASHINGTON POST]
WORLD NEWS
• ISIS has taken control of Syrian village and archaeological site of Palmyra including its military bases, marking the first time it had taken a city directly from President Bashar al-Assad’s army and allied forces. Past video showing ISIS destroying monuments stoke fear that they will do the same in Palmyra which is a site of renowned Roman-era ruins including well-preserved temples, colonnades and a theater.This means they now control 50% of Syria though the areas it holds are mostly sparsely inhabited and US led airstrikes might not be the optimal way to combat this growing movement. • CVS Pharmacy, the biggest U.S. retailer of prescription drugs, will acquire nursing-home pharmacy Omnicare Inc. With demand for pharmacy services rising as patients, insurers and companies look for ways to manage costs with drug prices increasing and growth in sales handling drug plans for health insurers and employers far outpacing the company’s retail division according to Bloomberg, this transaction makes sense. • The Top Ten of all Top Ten was done one last time for David Letterman last night. Signing off after 33 years hosting which began in February 1982 on NBC. Jerry Seinfeld, Barbara Walters, Chris Rock Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Peyton Manning all participated in Dave’s final ‘Top Ten’ andPresidents George Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and President Barack Obama all wished him well.
