• Jesse Jackson Jr, the former Illinois Rep. has been released from federal prison inside Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama and is on his way to Washington DC to serve out the rest of his 2 1/2 year sentence in a halfway house. His wife, former Alderman Sandra Jackson was sentenced to a year in prison for filing false joint federal income tax returns must serve her term after her husband completes his sentence. [ABC NEWS]

• Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has been charged with desertion and misbehaving before the enemy, If convicted, he faces the possibility of life in prison. The court proceedings will be held at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston in Texas, where Bergdahl has served since shortly after a U.S. Special Operations team whisked him away from his captors on a helicopter in Afghanistan. • Investigation continues in the Germanwings plane crash in the French Alps as it is revealed one of the pilots was locked out of the cockpit, intentionally; “One was in the cockpit and the other wasn’t.” An official stated, they “don’t know yet the reason why one of the guys went out, but what is sure is that at the very end of the flight, the other pilot is alone and does not open the door.” [REUTERS]
