• New York City mayor Bill de Blasio’s administration are expected to announce a proposed ban on plastic foam. Beginning on July 1, food establishments will be barred from using plastic foam cups or containers and the sale of packing peanuts within the city limits will also be prohibited, though peanut-laden parcels can still be shipped to New Yorkers from elsewhere. Similar measures have been enacted in other cities, including San Francisco, Seattle and Portland, could Chicago be next? [NY TIMES]

• The manhunt continues for two brothers, Cherif and Said Kouachi, suspected of killing 12 people at satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo. It is unclear at this time also if a policewoman who was killed in a shootout in southern Paris is linked to killings at Charlie Hebdo weekly newspaper. Tens of thousands took part in vigils across France on Wednesday to defend freedom of speech, many wearing badges declaring “Je Suis Charlie” (I Am Charlie) in support of the newspaper and the principle of freedom of speech. • This comes as no surprise to anyone following college football but Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has announced he will enter the 2015 NFL Draft. Winston who had run into some trouble off the field during his time at FSU led the #2 Seminoles to the National Championship playoff game but got bodied by the Oregon Ducks. It seems Tampa Bay Bucs general manager Jason Licht and coach Lovie Smith made the trip to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena last week to watch the potential first round pick. Winston became the youngest player to win the Heisman Trophy (2013). ESPN NFL draft expert Mel Kiper Jr has Winston at No. 6 overall on his latest Big Board. [ESPN]

• Pulling up to the gas station feeling like Rick Ross at King of Diamonds, spending. Bloomberg reports that oil’s drop has been so rapid and so driven by sentiment that forecasters say there are no clear signs for when the rout will end. UBS analysts say investors should avoid oil until the “free fall” ends. Oil’s slump accelerated after Saudi Arabia and other members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries decided Nov. 27 to maintain their production ceiling. The 12-member group is seeking to protect market share rather than prices, challenging U.S. shale drillers and other rivals to pare their output instead. [BLOOMBERG]

• Prada has moved it’s legal headquarters from Luxembourg back to Italy. This is huge because they have subject of tax investigations in recent years and Luxembourg offered lenient(dicey) tax framework. Reports states that the company has formally implemented a fully Italian business structure for Prada Holding, which controls the Prada label as well as holdings belonging to Miuccia Prada’s husband, Patrizio Bertelli, named Pa Be 1, and Bellatrix.
