• Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, sent an order to state probate judges Sunday night telling them to refuse to issue the marriage licenses to gay couples. U.S. District Judge Callie Granade on Jan. 23 ruled that the state’s statutory and constitutional bans on gay marriage were unconstitutional. Moore serves as head of the court system. [NY DAILY NEWS]

• Gunmen, hooded and armed with Kalashnikov rifles, opened fire on police in the city of Marseille during the French Prime Minister’s visit. The deputy mayor of Marseille, suggested the incident was part of a problem of drug trafficking in the area reports Reuters. France has been on high alert following the Islamist attacks in Paris. • A comprehensive list of HSBC Holdings private-banking unit accounts associated with more than 100,000 people and legal entities from more than 200 nations were revealed over the weekend to include dictators, rock stars and drug cartels. The report also describes ways the bank allegedly advised clients on ways to avoid paying taxes on their funds in their home countries, and it lists clients who are on U.S. sanctions and Interpol wanted list.[BLOOMBERG]

• Peter Dundas is out Marco Zanini is in, at least according to reports. WWD reports that Pucci’s Peter Dundas will show what is presumed to be hi last collection for Pucci in Milan on Feb. 28 and former Schiaparelli creative director Marco Zanini will take his stead. Zanini has previously designed ready-to-wear at Rochas and also worked at Versace, Halston and Dolce & Gabbana. [WWD]
