• President Obama will meet with chief executive officers on Friday at a summit in Silicon Valley held by the White House. Though CEOs from top tech companies Google, Facebook & Yahoo will not be attending, Apple Inc’s Tim Cook is set to give an address. Obama is set to sign an executive order aimed at encouraging companies to share more cyber threat data with the government and each other urge Congress to pass legislation that would offer liability protection to companies sharing cyber threat data. • NY Times media columnist David Carr, who wrote about cultural subjects for The Times, passed away at the age of 58. He collapsed in the Times newsroom, where he was found shortly before 9 p.m. He was taken to St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. [NY TIMES]

• Egypt President Abdul Fattah al-Sisias offered to evacuate its citizens from Libya after Islamic State released photos which it says show 21 Coptic Egyptians kidnapped in its latest online edition of IS magazine Dabiq. [BBC]

• Los Angeles residents, as early s mid June may vote on building an 80,000-seat stadium in hopes of luring an NFL team to town. Los Angeles County election officials cleared the way having received more than 22,000 petition signatures to put it on the ballot. The NFL has said no team has applied for relocation and the earliest a team could be put in place is 2016.[SI]

• Lyft Inc. is in advanced talks with new and existing investors to raise $250 million of financing putting their valuation at $2 billion, reports NY Times. Lyft operates in more than 60 U.S. cities, would use the money to expand though it lags behind Uber, which operates in about 250 cities and 54 countries. The company’s revenue grew fivefold last year. [NY TIMES]
• American Express exclusivity deal with wholesale club retailer Costco is set to expire at the end of March 2016. AmEx is currently the only credit card accepted by the retailer, which is one of the largest U.S. retailers with nearly 470 stores across the country. According to reports, the retailer negotiated a deal to partner with Capital One Financial Corp and MasterCard in Canada, similar move may be made for U.S. AmEX plans to cut more than 4,000 jobs this year. • Actor Emile Hirsch has been charged with felony assault following a choke hold attack on a female Hollywood executive at Tao nightclub in Park City during Sundace Film Festival. He is currently in rehab where he checked in days after the incident. [TMZ]
• Kanye West staged a fashion show for his collaboration with Adidas and the front row included Anna Wintour, Alexander Wang, Rihanna, Jay Z and Beyonce, wife Kim Kardashian West and caught North, who caused a scene crying once the show started.

• A 1910 townhouse at 17 East 71st Street in New York City will be the location of The Row’s flagship store which is expected to open by the end of the year.
