The first court hearing for the six officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray begins today and a small group of protesters gathered outside the courtroom. Prosecutors and defense attorneys will present arguments of whether Marilyn Mosby should recuse herselF, whether the officers should be tried separately or together and if the charges should be dismissed…developing story. FOX LAKE

Lt. Charles Gliniewicz  an officer with Fox Lake, a suburb north of Chicago, was gunned down Tuesday morning and his killers are on the loose prompting a manhunt of the area. The father of four who was known as “G.I Joe” was chasing three suspects he described over radio as two white male and a black man before being found dead by another officer. [WASHINGTON POST]

The Kentucky county clerk has defied the Supremes in an ongoing battle for her to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples even after the highest court in the land ruled on the right to marry. Not only has she refused same sex couples while invoking God’s authority, she’s refused licenses to any couple. Davis has been married four times; she had her children, fathered by her third husband, out of wedlock after divorcing her first husband and only converted to Christianity 4 years ago. “To issue a marriage license which conflicts with God’s definition of marriage, with my name affixed to the certificate, would violate my conscience” she said. Crain’s is also reporting the Oakbrook based company has put on hold a deal to occupy 350,000sq ft of office space in Prudential Plaza downtown Chicago.

Whoa, blast from the past! The company, which has never been associated with the word fashion, revealed their 2015 campaign and it’s trying to up its fashion game. The campaign, fronted by model Hilary Rhoda and was shot by Patrick Demarchelier, is a play on the name and features Rhoda posing with some barn animals. Get it? [WWD]
