Former Washington Post Editor Ben Bradlee passed away at the age of 93 at his home of natural causes. The most compelling story of Mr. Bradlee’s tenure, almost certainly the one of greatest consequence, was Watergate, a political scandal touched off by The Post’s reporting that ended in the only resignation of a president in U.S. history. Jeffrey Fowle who was arrested in May for leaving a Bible at a sailor’s club in the North Korean city of Chongjin has been released and will be flown back to the US. The release was facilitated by Swedish diplomats. [REUTERS]

Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer defended her leadership yesterday with a third-quarter earnings report that included sales that topped analysts’ estimates, reports Bloomberg.
