• The known Internet entrepreneur and his three colleagues can be extradited to the United States to face criminal copyright charges according to a recent ruling by New Zealand judge Nevin Dawson’s ruling Wednesday. His site, Megaupload, was used to download songs, television shows and movies though prosecutors say it was illegal, costing copyright holders more than $500 million and it raked in at least $175 million. They face charges including conspiracy to commit copyright infringement, racketeering and money laundering; Dotcom’s lawyers said they filed an appeal against the decision. This will be a lengthy case as appeals to the extradition ruling are likely to take at least another year according to reports. [NY TIMES]

• The Washington Post removed an editorial cartoon that shows presidential candidate Ted Cruz depicted in a  Santa hat playing a music box and his two daughters as dancing monkeys. The cartoonist Ann Telnaes defended it noting the girls were “fair game” after being featured in a Christmas parody ad released by the Senator’s campaign…Marco Rubio supporter and Chicago based billionaire founder of Citadel Ken Griffin has donated $40 million to MoMA and will have the museum’s East Wing named after him; the contribution is one of the largest in the museum’s 86-year history…Robert Durst (no relation to Limp Bizkit’s Fred) will not fight his extradition to California to face charges of homicide in the 2000 murder of longtime friend writer Susan Berman and will be arraigned by Aug. 18, 2016 in Superior Court in Los Angeles; you’ll remember the murder was investigated in the HBO documentary The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst…College Football holiday bowl games continues tonight with Northern Illinois facing Boise State…Not ONE player from the Chicago Bears made the Pro Bowl roster this year, smh.

Following Sunday’s disastrous finale to the Miss Universe competition, the 1st runner up Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, has finally spoken via an instagram post; you’ll remember Steve Harvey incorrectly named her Miss Universe when it was actually Miss Philippines…Kaitlyn Bristowe, formerly of The Bachelor, now engaged to winner Shawn Booth has revealed their engagement photos and her wedding plans to Brides magazine…Lady Gaga received a white horse from her Interscope records bosses… The most overpaid actor of 2015 was Johnny Depp with Denzel Washington coming in second; Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson and Will Smith rounding out the top five; the bankable actors and actresses include: Mila Kunis, Chris Hemsworth, Vin Diesel,Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence,  Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne “the rock” Johnson.


FASHION

Barney’s New York on Tuesday debut a men’s jewelry capsule collection in collaboration with Oklahoma City Thunder basketball player Russell Westbrook and jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher(Tobey mcGuire’s wife). The Barneys XO Exclusively Ours Russell Westbrook x Jennifer Fisher collection features four pieces made from brass and plated in 14-karat yellow gold with price range from $395-$795..Though currently under wraps, CFDA is planning a collaboration with the NFL for the upcoming golden Super Bowl 50 which will involve “quite a few designers.”
