BEARS

After a somewhat sluggish start against the San Diego Chargers during Monday Night football and trailing 16-7 into the fourth quarter, Jay Cutler led the Bears to rally from behind and beat the Chargers 22-19. One of the most exceptional play of the game was when Zach Miller caught the 25 yard throw from Cutler with one hand, a la Odell Beckham jr and rookie running back Jeremy Langford scored on the 2 point conversion. Phillip Rivers was sacked by Lamarr Houston which helped ward off a late game comeback by the Chargers.


GLAMOUR WOTY AWARDS

The annual Women Of The Year awards took place last night in Carnegie Hall, NYC. Victoria Beckham was given the Fashion Force award by her son Brooklyn, Misty Copeland was presented by Lupita Nyong’o, Caitlyn Jenner was presented the Transgender Champion by actress Judith Light; Reese Witherspoon was awarded The Hollywood Hero. Thoranos founder Elizabeth Holmes given the Entrepreneur Award; Team USA Women’s National Soccer Team, Cecile Richards and Peacemakers: Alana Simmons, 26, Nadine Collier, 47, Bethane Middleton-Brown, 45, Felicia Sanders, 58, and Polly Sheppard, 71, were recognized for seeking peaceful solutions following the massacre at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina were also recognized.

Pronounced MOH-DEE-GLEE-AH-NEE a piece of art created in 1917 to 1918 by Amedeo Modigliani is the most buzzed about painting from the recent Christie’s auction because it’s the second-highest price ever for a work of art at auction at $152 million. Liu Yiqian, the buyer of the Amedeo Modigliani painting “Nu Couché,” (Reclining Nude) of a nude woman that sold for $170.4 million(inclusive of 12% commission) at Christie’s with bidding starting at $75 million, plans to exhibit it in their private museum for its fifth anniversary. Nu Couché became the 10th work of art to reach the elite nine-figure club for works sold at auction.
