• The Oracle is lending a hand, a few millions worth. Warren Buffet is reportedly helping to fianance the Burger King aquisition of Tim Hortons according to Wall STreet Journal. “Buffett will invest in the merger in the form of preferred shares.” The deal in cash and stock will create the third-largest quick service restaurant group with sales of about $23 billion, and Tim Hortons shareholders will receive C$65.50 in cash and 0.8025 shares of the new company for every share they own. Warren Buffet’s alliance with the deal puts him in the spotlight debate over American companies moving their headquarters to lower tax countries[WSJ]

According to recent report from fashion bible WWD, the fashion powerhouse LVMH is in talks to acquire a stake in Proenza Schouler founded by Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernandez in 2002. “Discussions are focusing on the purchase of a 40 per cent stake in the brand” If completed, this will follow their investments in young fashion designers (J.W Anderson, Nicholas Kirkwood).
