• Three students were shot and wounded when a gunman opened fire inside Florida State University’s Strozier Library soon after midnight, campus police shot the suspect dead. One was treated on scene for a graze wound and was released, and two were taken to a local hospital. [REUTERS]
•Mike Nichols, award winning director and husband of prominent journalist and former ABC news anchor Diane Sawyer, died suddenly on Wednesday evening of cardiac arrest at 83 years old. Nichols’ death was announced by ABC News President James Goldston. [USA TODAY]
WORLD NEWS
• WikiLeaks founder Julia Assange’s appeal to revoke his arrest warrant has been rejected by Swedish appeals court. Assange has been stuck inside Ecuador’s London embassy since June 2012 to avoid a British extradition to Sweden. Sweden wants to question him on allegations of sexual assault and rape, which he denies. [REUTERS]

• Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has been fined $50,000 for violating the NFL’s media policy. The NFL media policy mandates that players must be available to the media during the practice week at the team facility and in the locker room following all games. The league will also collect on a $50,000 fine that was imposed on Lynch following violations in 2013. [ESPN]

• A junior banker at Goldman Sachs who brought confidential information from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York into the firm has been fired along with another employee who failed to escalate the issue. Contents of the memo, was prompted by a report in the New York Times yesterday. [BLOOMBERG]
• Uber is investigating if its GM violated their “god App rule. It was revealed that Josh Mohrer, general manager of Uber’s New York office, used a company tracking tool called “god View” to monitor the location of a BuzzFeed reporter earlier this month. [SF GATE]

• Michael Phelps’ self-proclaimed girlfriend, Taylor Lianne Chandler 41, admits she was born a male. Chandler began taking testosterone blockers in her teens, and had corrective surgery in her early twenties to get rid of her male genitalia This revelation, which has not been confirmed by Phelps’ camp, was reported by The Daily Mail. Matthieu Blazy was responsible for Maison Martin Margiela’s much-lauded couture line, but the arrival of John Galliano at the brand’s helm has thrown his position into doubt.
