PRES. OBAMA IN CUBA

¿Que bolá Cuba? was the first tweet from @POTUS account upon touching down in a rainy Havanna last night. This is the first time in nearly 90 years that a sitting US President has visited the once ostracized nation. President Obama and President Raul Castro will have their fourth meeting today at the Palace of the Revolution where they will discuss economic and democratic reforms as well as US economic sanctions. Cuba will not waver from its 57-year-old revolution and government officials say the United States needs to end its economic embargo and return the Guantanamo Bay naval base to Cuba before the two nations can enjoy normal relations.

Victoria Azarenka defeating Serena Williams, 6-4, 6-4, in Williams’ first appearance in the final of the BNP Paribas Open tournament since 2001 should have been the big news but it was the comments tournament director Raymond Moore made that’s making headline. Speaking with the media Sunday morning, he said female tennis players were “lucky” and owed their status to stars of the men’s game. “In my next life when I come back I want to be someone in the WTA, because they ride on the coattails of the men,” Moore said. “They don’t make any decisions and they are lucky. They are very, very lucky. If I was a lady player, I’d go down every night on my knees and thank God that Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal were born, because they have carried this sport. They really have.” He might have to get down on his knees for a new job soon.
