The Obama administration announced they are issuing guidance on Friday to schools throughout the country, saying they must allow transgender students to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity. This after DOJ sued North Carolina for its House Bill 2. • Apple has invested $1 billion in Chinese ride-hailing service Didi Chuxing, to help the company better understand the critical Chinese market. Didi is a competitor of Uber in China. The tech company’s shares slipped to below $90 on Thursday making Google (Alphabet), the largest company by market valuation.
• Election updates and gossip: Trump met with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan yesterday as he tries to mend fences with key republicans ahead of July’s convention in Cleveland. • Cannes report: “Money Monster” directed by Jodie Foster, starring George Clooney, Julia Roberts, held its grand red carpet premiere last night. | Former Destiny’s Child member LeToya Luckett will play Dionne Warwick and Lady Gaga will play Cilla Black, her British singing nemesis in upcoming biopic currently titled Dionne. Olympia Dukakis will play Marlene Dietrich, who was Warwick’s mentor at the start of her career; it is based on based on Warwick’s 2010 autobiography My Life as I See It. | Speaking of upcoming films, Lupita Nyong’o is in talks to play the love interest of Chadwick Boseman’s superhero in Marvel’s “The Black Panther” to be directed by Ryan Coogler.

• Anastasia Soare has gone from eyebrow queen to makeup queen who’s tapped the formula on how to use social media to drive sales, now the beauty brand is partnering with Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, on a palette that Soare predicts will sell out fast when released. According to WWD, Soare said of Dedivanovic and the collaboration “He is very talented. He understands makeup. He understands blending. He is a real artist, in my opinion, he does the most beautiful makeup on Kim. When she looks the best, you know that the makeup is done by Mario.”
