BRUSSELS UPDATES

STILL DEVELOPING: Following yesterday’s attack at the Brussels airport and metro, Najim Laachraoui the suspect alleged to be the Paris master bomb maker and involved in this attack, has been arrested. Two brothers identified as Khalid el-Bakraoui, 27, and Ibrahim el-Bakraoui, 30, whom the police had been searching for since the March 15 raid on an apartment in the Forest district of Brussels, were also caught on CCTV camera wearing black gloves to conceal the detonator. This comes eight days after the brothers escaped police in a gunfight ISIS has claimed responsibility. A Utah teen who was injured, apparently escaped death during the Boston marathon bombing. Former NBA player Dikembe Mutombo was in the Brussels airport lounge when the attack happened and four Christian aid workers from the Chicago area are safe but stranded because the Brussels airport is still closed.

• Secretary of State John Kerry is heading to Russia to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to talk about the Syria conflict as well as Ukraine. German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier will also be there.

• Jeb Bush has endorsed presidential candidate Ted Cruz in a statement saying “For the sake of our party and country, we must move to overcome the divisiveness and vulgarity Donald Trump has brought into the political arena.” Meanwhile, Trump called Cruz Lyin’ Ted after a Cruz backing PAC tweeted a photo of Trump’s wife Melania in a nude 2000 GQ photo spread.

• The extradition of Navinder Sarao, the trader accused of contributing to the 2010 Wall Street “flash crash” to the US has been approved. He faces 22 criminal counts including placing bogus orders to spoof the market.

ENTERTAINMENT

 An appeals court has ruled Bethenny Frankel no longer has to pay over $12,000 a month in temporary support to her estranged husband Jason Hoppy. ?holla we want ironclad prenup.?

FASHION

 The 2016 BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund winner is shoe designer Sophia Webster. She will receive high-level mentoring for 12 months as well as a £200,000 ($224,000) grant to help build the infrastructure to help take her burgeoning business to the next level.

• The Real Real officially opened a jewelry and watch valuation office in Chicago this past week. Consignors in Chicago, which was one of their first and top markets, can make appointments to come in their office located in the Spiaggia building, and determine the resale value of their fine jewelry and watches with a gemologist. The office was designed by Courtney Applebaum, the interior designer who did The Row stores.
