Brussels Bombing, Amazon Sells Comcast, Kardashians Sued + more

BRUSSELS

DEVELOPING: Earlier today, two coordinated attacks targeting the American Airlines check-in desk at Brussels Airport and a downtown metro station, 79 minutes after the first attack, took place and so far about 28 people have been reported dead with scores injured. Though no one has taken responsibility, this is being reported as a suicide bombing terrorist attack and they are on high alert. Attention is also being focused on Molenbeek,  a suburb that has been called training ground for radical militants. There were reports that revenge attacks after the arrest of Paris massacre suspect Salah Abdeslam were imminent.

• Amazon’s newly launched Cable Store will now resell Comcast’s Internet and television service on its site. Customers can browse a variety of packages, from Internet-only deals up to combined Internet/TV/phone bundles, complete a credit check, and then schedule an installation – all from Amazon.com.

• In addition to the $115 million judgement awarded to Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea, a jury awarded $25.1 million in punitive damages to be paid by Gawker Media, founder Nick Denton and Gawker.com’s former editor in chief, Albert J. Daulerio. Gawker will appeal both decisions.

• An unidentified flight attendant ran barefoot down an up escalator fleeing after she was pulled aside for a random screening and police found 69 pounds of cocaine inside her abandoned bag.

• George Clooney and his wife Amal will host a fundraising dinner for Hillary Clinton in their LA home with tickets priced at $33,400 each. Clooney has thrown his support behind Clinton joining several others in saying #ImwithHer.

ENTERTAINMENT

 Fraud and deceit is the operative word according to lawsuit by Hillair Capital Management who is suing the Kardashian sisters. The investment firm is seeking more than $180 million for claims of breach of contract not holding up their end of the bargain on a $10mil investment for Kardashian beauty.

FASHION

 Giorgio Armani has pledged to go fur free and stop using animal fur on all of its products starting with its fall 2016 collections in an agreement with The Humane Society of the United States and the Fur Free Alliance.
