• Ramadan bombings. The second holiest place for Muslims was one of the sites of multiple IS linked terror attacks over the weekend, as we approach Eid al-Fitr, the end of the month long muslim holiday Ramadan. IS suicide bombers carried out attacks inside the Holey Artisan Bakery killing 20 hostages and two police officers. A truck bomb in Baghdad killed 115 people. Though Kuwait security agencies foiled a number of ISIS plots in three preemptive operations on Sunday, the holy city of Medina was attacked with four people killed.

• NBA shakeup. Last night the Golden State Warriors acquired Kevin Durant from Oklahoma City Thunder and he penned a letter for Derek Jeter’s Players Tribune. Joakim Noah has been traded to the NY Knicks; Paul Gasol is headed to San Antonio to play for the Spurs. The Bulls sign Rajon Rondo to 2 year deal. There’s talks that Dwyane Wade might leave Miami as he is currently a free agent. Basically the Bulls 2016-2017 will be Butler, Taj Gibson and some dudes.

ENTERTAINMENT

• Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monae were on hand to perform at the White House Fourth of July celebration which marks President Obama’s last fourth in office and also Malia Obama’s birthday. President Obama serenaded his daughter.

FASHION

• Its Couture F/W ’17 takeover as editors, models and more descend upon Paris for the week’s worth of couture shows from July 3-7. amfAR hosted a dinner attended by Donatella Versace, Naomi Campbell, Carolyn Murphy, Adrien Brody, Karen Elson, Peter Dundas and Jennifer Garner. Snapchat debuted its first live story focused on the couture shows, as the fashion world continues to quickly adapt to the disappearing platform. Chanel, Vetements, Atelier Versace, Iris Van Alpern, Dior, Giambattista Valli have already showcased their wares with upcoming shows from Valentino, Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier, Margiela and Haute joaillerie.
